| Welcome To Kiel High School |
Our goal at KHS is to provide an educational environment that stresses high academic standards while maintaining a sense of community, where everyone – students, parents, staff – feel that they belong. Each year, approximately 80% of Kiel High School graduates go on to attend either a 4-year college or university or a 2-year technical college. It is our obligation to provide all students with an effective, challenging curriculum that prepares them for the demands they will encounter beyond the walls of KHS. Students attending Kiel High School can access an up-to-date, relevant curriculum provided by teachers utilizing a variety of teaching strategies and techniques, including online learning opportunities, to meet the needs of each individual student.
Our staff is also committed to maintaining an encompassing sense of community and school pride. We stress participation by all students in both curricular and co-curricular activities, realizing that students who feel connected to their school through these programs typically demonstrate higher levels of academic achievement as well. The sense of community that is developed through these activities results in a tremendous amount of self-

confidence and pride for those students who choose to be involved. We cannot separate ourselves from what is happening within society today. That is why “community” must be a large part of what we do in our schools.
We believe positive self-concept comes from long-term sustained effort and from the achievement that is the result of that effort. The KHS faculty and staff are prepared to ensure that all of our students find success. In order for this to occur, our students must take charge of their own circumstances and pursue learning with vigor and enthusiasm. They must design their own dream, and set a course that will allow them to accomplish that dream. They must prepare themselves to function and compete in a very competitive society; and above all, they must recognize diversity, value differences, and respect themselves and others.
