Kiel Middle School Principal/Director of Curriculum/BTLVA Administrator Email Phone: 920-894-2264 My name is Deb Sixel, and I am the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Middle School Principal. My educational background began in 1986 as an Education Major graduating from Lakeland College. In 1990 I earned a Master's degree in teacher professional development from Marian University. In 2001, I completed educational leadership licenses in K-12 principalship and curriculum. Prior to my position in Kiel, I taught middle school for 15 years. I was a language arts/reading and social studies teacher. I also taught online for Wisconsin Virtual HIgh School for three years. In addition, I worked at the post secondary level as an Associate Dean of Adult Basic Skills and English as a Second Language. In 2010, I completed my superintendent certification from UW-Milwaukee. Recently, I finished my Ph.D in Urban Education from UW-Milwaukee. My dissertation focused on the effectivness of self-directed professional learning through Wisconsin's PI34 Initiative on classroom instruction and student learning. I am an adjunct assistant professor at St. Norbert College in DePere.
