In the Kiel Middle School, there are three different types of classes that students take in their program.
The first is their core classes. The core classes are the academic classes such as science, math, language arts, literature, social studies, and spelling. The classes provide instruction in core academic instruction.
The second type of classes in their schedule are the exploratory classes. Exploratory classes include such things as art, technology education, family and consumer education, physical education, general music, keyboarding, and quest. The purpose of the exploratory program is to give students an opportunity to "explore" a variety of potential interest areas and provide a solid basis of experience upon which to base future decisions on.
The third type of classes that students may take are the electives. Currently, the middle school's electives include band and chorus.
