Academic and Career Planning
Academic and Career Planning, or ACP, is a student-driven, adult-supported process in which students create and cultivate their own unique and information-based visions for post-secondary success, obtained through self-exploration, career exploration, and the development of career management and planning skills.
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction requires public school districts to provide academic and career planning services to students in grades 6 through 12.

Kiel Area School District strives to provide every student with a comprehensive, personalized, and future-focused education. In order to meet such high standards, KASD will provide individualized support, appropriate to the pupil's needs, from school district staff to assist with completing and annually updating an academic career plan.
Individualized support will come in the form of Raider Time advisors, school counselors, and the utilization of the Xello Platform.
What is Xello?
Xello is our school’s online academic and career planning platform. Students use Xello to explore careers, learn about college and training programs, reflect on their interests and strengths, and keep track of important experiences like volunteering, job shadows, and extracurriculars.
Through Xello, students:
Discover careers that match their interests and personality
Explore colleges, majors, and post-secondary pathways (2-year, 4-year, apprenticeships, military, and workforce options)
Build a digital portfolio of experiences and goals
Reflect on skills, work values, and future plans
Create a personalized academic and career plan with support from school staff
In simple terms: Xello helps students connect who they are now to where they want to go after high school — and gives families visibility into that journey.
