Programs and Pathways
Kiel High School offers students a variety of programs to continue exploring their future career paths and academic opportunities. Our goal is to support all students on their personal path to success, and we aim to provide robust and specialized learning opportunities for students on their journey. Below, you will find information about different programming available to Kiel High School students.
College Credit in High School
College Credit in High School (CCIHS) courses are taught by UW-Green Bay approved high school teachers, enabling students to earn college credit while taking courses at their high school. These classes are taught at Kiel High School by KHS teachers. A few examples of this type of course would be UWGB Principles of Chemistry, UWGB Pre-Calc, and UWGB Writing Foundations. All of the courses under this category are listed in the KHS Course Guide.
Start College Now & Early College Credit Program
Sometimes, students are looking to take classes that are not available to them at their high school. This could be because they are in a subject that is not offered at the high school level, or because a student has exhausted all options available to them in that subject. If this is the case, students can consider taking dual credit classes via the following two programs! Classes could be in-person or online, depending on the class. Applications for these programs are due to the child's school counselor by October 1st for the spring semester, and by March 1st for the fall semester. For more information about your students elligibility to participate in these programs, please contact their school counselor.
The Start College Now (SCN) program will allow high school students the opportunity to take college courses at Wisconsin Technical Colleges.
The Early College Credit Program (ECCP) allows students to take one or more courses (up to 18 college credits) at an institution of higher education for high school and college credit.
Access Academy Courses
UW-Green Bay's Access Academy offers any high school student the opportunity to take an online course for both high school and college credit. Courses are available for fall and spring semesters. The rotating courses available to students are determined by UW-Green Bay, and are filled on a first come first serve basis. To view a list of currently available courses, click here. To participate, students will need to fill out an application with their school counselor.
